The V-COMP Tube Compressor is designed for the musician who demands the finest gear. This compact device is actually a studio quality valve/opto compressor packaged in a compact floor pedal chassis. The compressor circuitry utilizes an ALL TUBE, Class A audio path using a Vactrol as the gain control element. The tube heater and plate voltage are both regulated DC power for low hum and noise. Attack and decay characteristics have been optimized for guitar but also work very well with bass and vocals.
This "pedal" was designed with selectable signal levels allowing interface directly to instruments, to amplifier effect loops, between a preamp and power amp, or to the recording system, mixing console, etc. This feature allows the V-COMP to be used on stage or in the studio in multiple applications.
This compressor is NOT a "distortion
pedal" but, like most classic valve/opto compressors, HAS a sound and it is
BRILLIANT! It is designed to add life to the audio with subtle tube coloration and
the smooth compression characteristics of legendary opto compressors. But don't take

With the threshold control kept to a minimum (no compression) the unit can be also be used
as a tube booster to add real tube character to digital and solid state systems.
